The incredibly McDougally adventures of two girls in love!

Jasperfields did not spend much time in the kitchen preparing fresh food until we started to McDougall.  Now, not only are we cooking almost every meal, I enjoy it!  Trying to make things yummy with the right combination of spices and ingredients is challenging and rewarding.  Not all are winners but quite a few are great.  The reinforcer to eating right is a slow, steady drop in my weight and feeling good. My goal is to get back in shape so I can rock climb again…  or take a decent walk without stroking out.  I am very interested in new ideas and resources so please comment on our posts or send us an email!

Midcitygirl has always liked to cook but admittedly, ate out more than in until McDougall came into our lives. And when we did eat in, there was a lot of Mac & Cheese and Spaghettios involved. I’ve never been a recipe girl. My favorite aspect of cooking is spontaneously looking at what happens to be in the cupboard and creating something scrumptious out of it. McDougalling is perfect for that! It’s so much fun to experiement & discover new ways to turn the somewhat limited ingredients allowed on the program into amazingly tasty meals.  I’m losing weight, I have more energy and I love the quality time I spend in the kitchen with my girl. McDougalling gives us the chance to learn together and to cook for each other every day.  I gotta say – I’m hooked!

What (Who) is McDougall?

Essential McDougall Books: The McDougall Program; 12 Days to Dynamic Health and The McDougall Program for Maximum Weight Loss.

Our approach is to stick pretty closely to the Maximum Weight Loss version while sometimes including foods allowed on the regular McDougall program (like whole grain flour and non-fat soy milk). It’s working great for us and we’re loving it. Check it out – it’s easier than you think and you might love it too!
